Ol Doinyo Lengai Volcano God

Ol Doinyo Lengai Volcano God

Ol Doniyo Lengai is an active volcano in Tanzania on the East African Rift Valley and is called 'The Mountain of God' by the Massai people. The white top, a feature of this natrocarbonatite emitting volcano, is said by the Massai people to be the beard of god. The Massai people conduct rituals and sacrifices near their holy mountain of fire and pray at the volcano whenever it erupts due to believing this is a sign their god is angry.
